YB3VK/N CS PSE K
Posted by: Michael Slater in Uncategorized, tags: cq, cw, Ham Radio, morseI’m not quite sure what was going on here. yb3vk/n, an Indonesian callsign, was saying
CQ CQ IN A CW NET DE YB3VK/N CS PSE K
I presume /n indicated “net”, but what does “CS Please” mean in this context? I am presuming it’s not an LOLcat joke.

The way I copy that is: YB2VK/ncs pse k.
I hear the ncs together and assume it means Net Control Station.
Thus he is calling net members.
You could have returned and joined the net.
Listening carefully the ncs letters are tucked together and you might also note there is a bit of hesitation between ps and e in the pse. I think the hesitation is longer than any spaces between the ncs.
Try listening again.
I have not enjoyed working nets so far. I have found listening to nets is a different kind of code practice as the speeds and spacings are so varied with the many fists.
Sure am glad your enjoying the vertical.

Yeah I think you must be right — it makes sense: http://www.waterwayradio.net/cwnet.htm
Anyway, I logged a contact with him. His QTH was weird to copy at QRS — BONDOWOSO and OP is TONO
Worked a JA7 this morning on 20m, so at least I know my antenna is working on bands other than 40m.
