6:50pm. Everyone gone home now; Luke in bed.

Day was fun and successful. Kids had a hell of a time carrying on in the pool and then later upstairs. Beat apart a pinata as well.

Manab brought a 1985 Chateau d’Yquem Lur-Saluces Sauternes. As someone said, it’s not a wine, it’s a nectar. It really is the most heavenly dessert wine you could ever fathom. Just absolutely beautiful.

Food turned out well. I think everyone enjoyed it and there are not too many leftovers.

Even our shrovetide buns (there were wayyyy too many) were totally eaten by the end of the day.

Question, I was playing the Superbowl 43 while we were eating. They were introducing the players. One of the St Louis players, Reggie Wells, claimed he was from Clarion University. Is that the same Clarion University we’re all thinking of? Why would an nfl-quality player go to Clarion University? That was a bit out of left-field.

  6. The NFL holds tryouts for all D-1, D-1 subdivision and D-2 schools during the winter. Everyone gets a shot. The NFL scouts think differently than do College coaches when looking at players as they know that there are good players who were not that good in high school and who eventually attended a D-2 school because they couldn’t play D-1 after high school until they developed in D-2 and then went on the develop and become fantastic players.
