Disgusted: Poker War Story

Published by Michael Slater at 10:22 pm under Uncategorized

Was going to win my first poker tournament ever.

Lost via a 7 drawn on the river. This guy had only three outs [7c would have given me an ace high flush]. Yet, he drew one of them. And down I went, finishing second instead of first. fuck me.

    80% aint much..

I remember having a mellon bank card when the atm’s were just starting up. I went to an atm and it did not work. A week or so later I went to an atm and again it did not work. I moved on to another bank card from PNC which worked every time I tried.

A month or so later I read an article by a Mellon data administrater glorying in his atm availability of 93%.

Not long after Mellon quit their own bank cards and subscribed to the guys PNC were using.

A way to visualize 99% is think of a 100 by 100 grid of dots but in each row is an x randomly placed. Each x is a failed poker hand. Man they look kinda dense dont they?

Visualize 80% in the same manner and boy, how can you ever win!

Still lots of people really enjoy playing poker hoping that the failed hands will not be dense.

    later, slater
