Don’t know what his problem was, but it took thirty minutes of cajoling before Luke submitted to a haircut at Barber Minami today. Innumerable candies, a gelato from Haato, and finally a bumboat ride down Clark Quay. This will not become a habit.

  1. You brought back many memories of the early years with Hank and Morgan. I remember one time I put Hank in the corner in Jamesway. You should have seen the people look at me. lol He took temper tantrums when I was pregnant with Morgan and could not lift him. You should have seen the people look at him, lying on Main Street of Brookville in his snow suit kicking and screaming, and no mother in immediate sight. I was a few feet away watching him. By the way, that was the last one he had. Apparently that parenting advice worked. lol

The turning point in our household was when I discovered the video called One Two Three Magic. I was desperate and the advice on this tape worked. No screaming, no hollering, no threats, no spanking. Amazing. It worked. Morgan was very little and when I explained it to her, even though she had done nothing wrong, she ran to her bed and cried.

One time, in their teen years, the two of them were bickering etc, so I made them sit beside each other on two dining room chairs and told them, Hank, when Morgan says you can get up, you can get up. Morgan, when Hank says you can get up you can get up. Immediately Hank said Morgan you can get up. Morgan kept him hostage for quite sometime while he did a verbal dance and tried to talk her into releasing him. lol I will have to ask them this weekend if they remember that one……..

My point. You always have to be thinking ahead and have a game plan in place. Finding one that works for you and Luke………that is the challenge.
