  1. So my brother-in-law who is training to fly 747s just took a stab at it.

    A radio drives the needle and tells you where the signal beacon you are referring to is. In this picture if you changed your bearing to 90degrees left, you’d be heading directly towards the beacon.

    The central ling is your true compass heading.

    The knob on the bottom right adjusts the magnetic variation (Which can be seen on the vernier gage at noon, inner ring.

    Bizarre radio coupling connector however… Almost looks like Coax, but not quite.

    Wonder if I could make this something interesting.

  2. might be an N connector which is coax. How is the needle driven?
